Each year, the City of Chanhassen presents four community events: February Festival, the Easter Egg Candy Hunt, 4th of July Celebration, and the Halloween Party. These events have been longstanding traditions in our community. To date, $16,573.69 has been donated to the 2021 Community Events Sponsorship Program in increments of $500 or more. Numerous smaller donations have also been received, bringing the total amount contributed to $17,730.69 to date. All donations exceeding $500 must be approved by the City Council.
The number of contributions to the 2021 Community Events Sponsorship Program is fewer than contributions in previous years. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on community events in 2020, all 2020 Community Events Sponsors generously agreed to apply their donations to fund both modified programs in 2020 as well as community events in 2021. The total value of contributions to the 2020 Community Events Sponsorship Program was $45,921.43.
